Marvel: Darkhold Destiny brings magic and monsters to MTG
Magic: The Gathering | Marvel: Darkhold Destiny takes you to the mystical and supernatural side of the Marvel universe. Witches, vampires, gods, and other supernatural forces meet the gameplay of Magic: The Gathering. The set carries the code MDD and belongs to the Universes Beyond series. You can find more editions and products in our Magic: The Gathering Collection.
Doctor Strange and Thor against Dormammu and Hela
At the center of Darkhold Destiny is a new story developed specifically for Magic and Marvel. After Dormammu and Hela use a page of the Darkhold to break through the boundaries between realities, they unleash supernatural dangers across multiple dimensions. Doctor Strange and Thor are among the central opponents of this threat, while characters such as Magik also make an appearance. With the Marvel: Darkhold Destiny Booster Display – EN, you can dive extensively into this new card world.
Darkhold Destiny Booster for Draft, Deck building, and Collection
The regular Boosters were explicitly designed by Wizards for Limited formats. A Booster Display contains 30 packs with 14 Magic cards each, making it suitable for Draft rounds, larger pack openings, or building a Collection. For smaller openings, there is, for example, the Darkhold Destiny Booster – DE. Collectors who are primarily looking for special card treatments can instead choose the Darkhold Destiny Collector Booster – EN.
Release of Marvel: Darkhold Destiny on April 9, 2027
The official Release of Magic: The Gathering | Marvel: Darkhold Destiny is scheduled for April 9, 2027. The Prerelease already runs from April 2 to 8, 2027, offering the first opportunity to play the new set in Sealed format. A Darkhold Destiny Prerelease Pack – DE contains six Boosters, a traditional foil card of Rarity Rare or Mythic Rare, and a Spindown life counter.
Four Darkhold Destiny Commander Decks
Four different decks are being released for Commander players: Midnight Sons, Strange Academy, Gods of Asgard, and Lords of Hel. Each deck contains 100 cards and features its own Marvel theme along with new Commander cards. The Commander Deck Gods of Asgard – EN, for example, puts Thor and powerful Asgardians in the spotlight, while the Commander Deck Midnight Sons – EN explores a different supernatural side of the Marvel universe.
Bundle and Arcanum Bundle for Marvel Fans
Darkhold Destiny also offers different options when it comes to Bundles. The Marvel: Darkhold Destiny Bundle – DE contains nine Boosters, a mechanically unique Mythic Rare promo card, Full-Art lands with Strange Places motifs, a Spindown, and additional Accessories. Even more extensive is the Darkhold Destiny Arcanum Bundle – EN: it combines eight regular Boosters with a Collector Booster, special promo cards, and Full-Art Bifrost lands.
Collector Booster and Special Card Treatments
For Collectors, Marvel: Darkhold Destiny offers numerous card variants beyond the regular versions. Wizards has announced, among other things, Source Material cards, Silver-Foil cards, and the special Midnight-Raised-Foil treatment. These are joined by traditional foils, alternative illustrations, and other Booster Fun variants. This means the set appeals not only to Players, but also to Marvel and Magic Collectors who are specifically looking for special artwork and premium versions.
Scene Boxes Tell the Story Across Six Cards
Darkhold Destiny continues its story with special Scene Boxes. The six Borderless Scene Cards in a box come together to form a larger illustration and connect Trading cards with a specific moment in the story. The Skirmish at the Sanctum Scene Box – EN, for example, shows Doctor Strange defending the Sanctum Sanctorum, while Assault on Asgard covers another important part of the story.
