Pre-order Magic The Gathering Star Trek

Magic: The Gathering Star Trek is one of the upcoming Universes Beyond expansions from Wizards of the Coast and combines the science-fiction universe of Star Trek with the strategic card game Magic: The Gathering. The set is being released as part of the renowned crossover series, in which well-known franchises are adapted as standalone Magic sets. With MTG Star Trek, the complete Star Trek universe, with its crews, starships, and adversaries, is being interpreted as Magic cards for the first time. This creates a set that is relevant both for Magic players and for fans of the science-fiction series.

The planned release date of Magic: The Gathering Star Trek is November 13, 2026. This means the set is expected to be the last major Magic Release of 2026. The MTG Star Trek Set will be released for both Tabletop Magic and MTG Arena. Players can therefore use the cards both physically and digitally. For many Magic Players, the release date is particularly important, as Universes Beyond sets often bring new collector interests and alternative gameplay themes to the game.

With Magic: The Gathering Star Trek, familiar characters and elements from the Star Trek franchise are brought to life as playable Magic cards. Characters such as Captain Kirk and well-known adversaries from the Star Trek universe may appear as creatures, legendary cards, or other card types. In addition, spaceships, technologies, and factions from various series such as The Original Series and The Next Generation are likely to be part of the set. This creates a card world that combines the history of Star Trek with the gameplay mechanics of Magic.

Many Universes Beyond expansions are released with their own Commander decks. Magic: The Gathering Star Trek is also expected to potentially receive several Star Trek Commander decks. These decks would be thematically based on familiar crews or factions and could, for example, represent different Starfleet groups, starships, or antagonistic groups from the Star Trek universe. Commander decks give players a direct entry point into the set and allow them to use Star Trek cards immediately in the popular Commander format.

Magic: The Gathering Star Trek is part of the Universes Beyond series, in which Wizards of the Coast integrates well-known franchises into Magic. These sets differ from classic Magic expansions because they are entirely based on external universes. In addition to Star Trek, this series also includes other crossover projects. The Magic Star Trek Set expands these collaborations with one of the best-known science-fiction franchises, thereby opening up new themes for cards, mechanics, and illustrations.

The upcoming Magic: The Gathering Star Trek Set will be released both for classic Tabletop Magic and on MTG Arena. This allows Players to experience the new Star Trek cards in both the physical Card game and the digital version. This dual release enables a wider reach and ensures that the set can be played in local playgroups as well as in digital Magic formats.

The Star Trek franchise spans more than 60 years of series, films, and stories. Magic: The Gathering Star Trek draws on this extensive foundation and integrates familiar spacecraft, characters, and conflicts into the Card game. This creates an expansion that connects elements from different series and timelines of the franchise. For Magic Players, the set represents an unusual thematic expansion that brings classic science fiction motifs into the Magic universe.

Long before the Release, Magic: The Gathering Star Trek was already one of the most discussed upcoming Magic sets. Terms like pre-ordering MTG Star Trek, Star Trek Magic set, or Star Trek Commander Deck are already among the most frequently searched topics relating to future Magic releases. As soon as official products, Booster packs, or Commander decks are announced, interest continues to grow, as Universes Beyond sets are often in high demand both for gameplay and collecting.
